The Agrippa fire door holders ‘listen and learn’ the sound of a specific fire alarm Geofire’s ‘Agrippa’ wire-free fire door holders have been installed at a luxury hotel in London’s Trafalgar Square.
The holders allow fire doors to be held open for ease of access, but are released in the event of a fire alarm sounding to prevent the spread of fire and smoke. A total of 55 of the holders have been installed throughout Citadines Prestige Trafalgar Square, which is part of the Apart’hotel network.
Geofire says its advanced digital technology enables the Agrippa door holders to uniquely ‘listen and learn’ the sound of a specific fire alarm. This ensures the holder’s releasing trigger reacts only to the precise sound of the fire alarm rather than extraneous loud noises, so false activations can be “virtually eliminated”.
The Agrippa holder does not cause damage to flooring as it is located at the top of a door, and requires two C cell batteries and features a low battery warning. It can also be programmed for timed daily releases.
