Craftsman Quality Lockers (CQL) has provided equipment for the Celtic Manor Resort's new £8m golf clubhouse.
The Resort is to stage the 2010 Ryder Cup and has added a third championship course - the Twenty Ten - to its existing two in a move designed to do the event proud.
Both it and the new clubhouse opened at the end of last year.
CQL won a tender for the contract and its ideas materialised in the 'neighbourhood of lockers' concept, designed to allow groups to change in their own space free from the distraction caused by other players.
Each of the 160 hand-crafted, solid oak lockers is 6ft high - capable of accommodating a suit, club blazer and trousers, shirt, tie and golf bag - and comes with a shoe compartment below and upholstered bench seating.
Security is courtesy of a brass-finish ASSA card lock with bespoke, polished and lacquered brass cylinder.
The card, carrying the Twenty Ten gold logo, allows the brass key to be removed from the lock but only when the card is slotted into an enclosure on the reverse side of the door.
Fine detail within the changing area has seen the end of each row of lockers fitted with a large photographic frame.
These carry sepia images of golfing greats such as Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus and Ben Hogan, the idea being, says Russell Phillips, club Vice President, Facilities and Development, to get players in the mood and become inspired by looking at the achievements of the great.
