Daniels will focus of expanding the company's operations into sports
RFID-based access control and payment specialist PlayPlass is looking to introduce its tech to the UK sports market.
Already established in the music and events sector, the Belgium-based company has appointed Josh Daniels as business development manager with a focus of expanding the company's operations.
As well as access control, the firm delivers cashless and interactive audience gamification to a rapidly expanding roster of UK festivals.
It is now looking to enter the UK sports sector, following its success in securing Belgian football giants RFC Anderlecht and KV Mechelen as clients.
“We are establishing a network of festival and music industry clients in the UK and Josh will help us introduce this exciting technology into the UK sports sector," PlayPass UK MD Steve Jenner said.
Daniels has spent the past seven years in the sports sector and joins PlayPass from after leaving his role as head of sports and events at Groupon.
“The part that has always intrigued me is the adoption of technology into sport to enhance the experience – and this is why I joined PlayPass," Daniels said.
"The technology allows fans to feel more connected with the event and will build their relationship with the clubs and events."
