With its new HEXaFLITE® system Simtec has introduced a 'flying theatre' advance to the world of simulator attractions.
It features a breathtaking initial movement similar to a roller coaster drop where visitors are thrown in front of the movie and experience a high dynamic fully immersive simulator ride.
A half dome projection screen is set up around one or two 6-degrees-of-freedom (6-DOF) motion platforms, with acceleration in excess of 1g giving visitors a 'flying' experience.
The special design of the motion system makes it possible for guests to enter the platform in its horizontal position, take their seats and lock the safety bar.
From this position the motion platform is then dropped into the theatre until the seats are practically vertical, a move aimed at making visitors feel as if they are immersed in the scenery of the film.
Simtec is offering the HEXaFLITE® system from the motion unit only through to a turnkey simulator ride attraction.
